One-to-one service

ParentSpace provides free, confidential support for parents and carers living in the Scottish Borders.

Our service is designed to support you through the challenges of parenting by offering a safe, non-judgemental space where parents support parents.

We offer a calm and confidential space to talk about the realities of parenting - the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

Self referral

You might want to access ParentSpace if:

  • You’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or stretched thin at the moment

  • You’re finding some aspects of parenting difficult or exhausting, even while doing your best

  • You’re feeling isolated or lacking support

  • You’d welcome a chance to feel more connected and less on your own

  • Family relationships feel tense or challenging and you’d like space to talk things through

  • You’re moving into a new stage of parenting such as starting school or the teenage years and would value extra support

  • You’re looking for practical support with specific challenges, such as bedtime routines, behaviour, or learning to support your family around neurodivergent needs (for example, a diagnosis of autism)

  • You’d value talking with someone who understands the realities of parenting

If any of this sounds familiar, ParentSpace could be the right support for you. You don’t need to be at breaking point, and you don’t need a diagnosis. If parenting feels harder than it should, or you’re feeling under pressure, ParentSpace may be able to help.

Third-party referral

We also welcome referrals from professionals or organisations who are supporting families, such as GPs, health visitors, schools, or other local services, with the parent or carer’s consent.
